Many Roads One Camera

20 Days Before I Hit The Road

Ok, so here we go. I have planned a long road trip beginning on the 23rd of February.  But I thought that I would start from the beginning. Last August I was searching the internet and came across a European trip through National Geographic Explorations for a river cruise down the Rhine river. For everything that was included on the trip (and I mean EVERYTHING) it was a very good price. I started taking German lessons using Duo-lingo on-line and was getting pretty good at it. But somewhere in October or November I started to think about places that I have been to and places that I haven’t been to here in the U.S.  I decided to cancel the trip to Europe and at the beginning of December I bought a used travel trailer (a 2015 Lance 2295) to make a trip across the United States.

I have spent many hours researching and planning this trip. What I am planning is to visit a large number of National Parks (hopefully they will be open when I get to them) and other points of interest along the way. At the time of this writing there will be 9,500 miles and almost 6 months of driving pulling the travel trailer and that does not include the miles driving in the parks or wherever else that I go.

The whole point of this trip is to satisfy my addiction to taking pictures. My first major stop will be in San Antonio, TX. For years I have seen images of the Riverwalk and wanted to go there to get those images myself. I also wanted to go back to the Alamo.  I was in the USAF and right near graduation from bootcamp we were able to go to town for one day and that was before I had or knew how to use a camera.

I plan on making posts along the way and am aiming for one a day but may be one every two to three days. Since I am brand new to RVing I intend to share with you all the good things and dumb things that I do along the way and obviously post a bunch of pictures of what I see and like. Wish me luck.
