End of a Great Trip

Well the trip is complete, and I made it all the way around the country and got back in one piece. The trip was fabulous and exciting. I got some great pictures, but even more important I got great memories. It is hard to find a way to put into words how I feel about finishing my trip. The memories were so good that there were many times that I wished that I had someone with me to share them with. During the trip I visited 17 National Parks and many other locations that were inspiring. Of the National Parks that I visited the top 5 were Yosemite, Death Valley, Yellowstone, Grand Teton and Saguaro. Don’t get me wrong, the others were good and beautiful but those five were my favorites. There were places that I went to and felt that I planned too much time for the area and other places that I wished that I had planned a little more time. I found that I was restricted by reservations that I had made before I started the trip. I ended up with over 12,000 pictures. Of course, you only get to see a few of them. There were some that were only OK and some that I will delete out of my library because I don’t even want to look at them. To be honest with you I think that I did bite off more than I could chew. By the end of my trip I was burnt out. I think that a lot of the burnout was my being anxious to get home. I missed my family. Any other trips that I take will be much shorter.

  • Wow what an awesome trip you had. 17 parks is amazing! The most we ever did in one trip was 7 in about 3 weeks. By the end of 3 weeks, I had to come home. So I can imagine how you felt. But as you said, you have memories of a life time. I thoroughly enjoyed seeing a small piece of your 12k pictures. Welcome home to the heat. If you haven’t already, Go see Zion and Bryce one day. They are in my top 5 along with Glacier, Yosemite, and Arches.

  • You are a total inspiration for your family!! Wonderful Keith . . . thank you for taking us with you on your trip through your pictures!
