Many Roads One Camera

A Tranquil Day

I took a drive to one of the don’t miss places in Olympic National Park today. When I was doing my research before, I started this trip Lake Crescent was ranked very high on the list of places to visit. Wow, they weren’t wrong. After going to the other National Parks with their gushing and powerful waterfalls that amazed me and their gigantic and magnificent granite mountains this lake was so tranquil and peaceful. I sat there for a couple of hours just looking at the deep blue water that was so clear that it reminded me of the Mediterranean Sea in Greece. After the photographic challenges that I have had the past few days, this place was so easy to photograph that the camera could almost do itself. The scenery was almost a Zen moment. The only struggle that I had while I was there was trying to force myself to leave. It was a place that I thought that I could live there but then I remembered they get snow there so maybe I can find a place like that in Florida. I finally did force myself to leave. From there I went to Cape Flattery. That is the furthest point west in the lower forty-eight states. It was a steep hike to get to where I could get a picture of the ocean, but I made it. This day was a long drive so by the time that I got back to my camper I was dead tired.

  • Gorgeous pictures. Love all those colors in Lake Crescent. My husband and I traveled to Olympic too a few years back and loved it. Hope you can go up to Hurricane ridge. Enjoy!

    • I have been up to Hurricane Ridge a couple of times. Once during the day and again at sunset and night.

  • It is a beautiful area and we do hope to return one day! You are having such an unbelievable journey!

    • I am having a great trip but I have be on the Olympic Peninsula for 15 days and I am Olympic-ed out. I’m looking forward to heading up to the North Cascades NP on Saturday. I have plenty of pictures to remind of Olympic National Park.
