A Day In Victoria Canada

I went off script today. I climbed into my way-back machine and remembered what co-workers at United Airlines used to tell me. They always ranted about how beautiful Butchart Gardens in Victoria BC; Canada were. Well they are a short 90-minute ferry ride from Port Angeles to Victoria, so I jumped onto the ferry and went over there. Well they were right; the gardens are beautiful and so is the city. Victoria is filled with Victorian architecture. What other kind of architecture would Victoria have? The gardens are well maintained and the staff while I was there were all over the park replacing flowers. When you enter the park, they give you a flower and plant guide. The guide has a picture of each flower or plant that they have in the park. The guide also shows a picture, the time of year and if it is an annual or perennial. To be honest after I get past roses and tulips a flower is a red one or a purple one. It was a bright sunny day, so it was hard to find flowers that the sun didn’t wash out the color of the image. I watched many people taking pictures of flowers in the sun when the same flower was just a few inches away in the shade where the color is better. For smokers and vapers out there, the whole park is smoke free including the parking lots. I guess that they are afraid that the smell of the cigarette of vapor will destroy that great smell from the diesel engines on the busses. It was worth the trip over to Vancouver. It cost me fifteen dollars to park my car in Port Angeles and eighty-nine dollars for the round trip on the ferry, the shuttle and the entry to the park.
