Ash Meadows and Dante’s View

I appreciate all the love that I have been receiving from everyone that have been following me on social media. I have had some days that have been really exciting and some days that haven’t been. Then there are days like today that is in between. I got some nice shots today in Ash Meadows National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge is about 12 miles west of Pahrump Nevada. It is an area in the desert that I guess could be classified as an oasis. There is a lot of grass, trees and other foliage in the park. All of that is supported by warm water springs that flow up through the rocks and flows in small streams through the park. This is the second time this past week that I found water in the desert. I asked the park ranger how safe the water is to drink. She said that the water is loaded with minerals, so it is not recommended. This is the Amargosa area and Amargosa translates to bitter water.
