Cascade Locks Portland East KOA Review
May 27, 2019
This is a review that I don’t really want to do. Cascade Locks/Portland East KOA is not a campsite that I would stay at again. It’s not that there was a problem with the staff. As a matter of fact, they were very friendly. It is the location that I was not happy with. First and fore most it is near a railroad that is very active. The trains run all day and night and they blow their horns no matter what time of day or night. Another thing about the area is that the town of Cascade Locks has two restaurants. Both restaurants don’t open until 11am and one closes at 2:30pm. There are two service stations in the town. If you want more restaurants or service stations, you must drive 20 miles to Hood River. As far as the campsite is concerned, they have both blacktop and gravel sites. They also have a lot of cabins and tent sites. There is a swimming pool and hot tub. Overall, I guess that if you can deal with the train horns it is a decent park. I had trouble with being woke 2 or 3 times a night. I’ll give it 4 stars for the campsite and 1 star for the location.
