Day 2 Baton Rouge
February 24, 2019
I am currently in a KOA campsite near Baton Rouge, LA. I got here early in the afternoon and after unhooking the trailer from the car and hooking all the connections to the campsite I sat down and thought about what to do next.
It is only 16 miles to downtown Baton Rouge, so I jumped into my car and went down to the state capital building. I walked around there and snapped some pictures to prove that I was there. From the capital building I drove down to the Riverwalk. I walked around there and took some pictures of the USS Kidd and a paddleboat named America.
At this point I was getting pretty hungry. There was a lot of advertising for a restaurant called Raising Canes. So, I thought that I would give it a try. I guess it would have been OK if I had been working in the yard on a hot day and wanted something quick, but it wasn’t worth walking five blocks to get food. I was hoping to get Cajun food but even KFC would have been better. I should have eaten before I left but I was trying to catch some of their Mardi Gras celebrations. I missed that too.
Here are a couple of pics from today

The state capitol has some great architecture. The statues are amazing looking.
