Drive to Parker AZ

Today was a travel day. After taking a while to get my car lined up with the trailer hitch and finally hooking up, I left the campsite this morning at about 10:00 AM heading for Parker AZ.      I-10 was long, straight and level. Very few curves or hills. The scenery was beautiful. The further west that I drove the more flowers I saw along the side of the road. I hope that is an indication of what I am going to see in California. Parts of the highway went through areas that looked like the desert in the old western movies. You know a lot of brown sand and small scrubby bushes scattered around. The mountains are getting higher and they look like giant rocks that were forced up out of the ground. Come to think about it I guess t5hat is exactly what happened. Years ago, when I was still married, and we came to Arizona for a long weekend over Memorial Day weekend to go to the Grand Canyon I told my wife that it would take a month to see everything in Arizona. I am still convinced of that. There is still so much that I haven’t been able to get to because of the future campsite reservations that I have made. I wish that I could put into words for you the scenery that I have seen. I just know that you would want to jump into your car or jump on an airplane to come and dive into this state and see everything from the Grand Canyon to the painted desert to Saguaro National Park and all that is in between that I haven’t mentioned in this post.
