Joshua Tree Day 5
March 14, 2019
The rain that came down the other day really helped the flowers in Joshua Tree National Park. The weather today was different. No clouds in the sky. The temperature in the valley was in the 60s and 70s while up in the park it was in the upper 40s with a constant wind. I went back to Joshua Tree National Park today and was really surprised with what I saw. It’s days like this that I really enjoy putting the camera to my eye and capturing images of what I am seeing. I also went to the Cholla (Choy-ya) Cactus Garden. This is a place that you must be really careful not to brush up against the cactus. The needles have barbs on them and if they get into the skin, they are very painful, but from what I have learned on the internet they are even more painful when they are taken out. They are also called jumping Chollas. The garden is big and thousands of Chollas. I walked around a lot of them hoping to see a wren. They like to feed in the Chollas. Unfortunately, I didn’t see any. Maybe some other time.
