Joshua Tree NP Day 1

I made the drive from Parker AZ to the KOA at Desert Palm Springs today. It didn’t start off very well. I stayed in a Walmart parking lot overnight and didn’t realize that if I listened to the radio in the camper that it would drain the battery in my car. Like I said I was in a Walmart parking lot and went in and bought a set of jumper cables and the got a guy to jump my car. Then I was off and running. The drive was easy and beautiful. Just like the day before the further west I drove the more flowers I saw. I got here around 11 AM and managed to get my trailer backed into the site with a lot of help from one of the campground staff. Once I got everything leveled up and unhooked, I took off to Joshua Tree National Park. I went to the southern entrance, the Cottonwood entrance. When I got into the park it was like a blanket of flowers. Sorry but once I get past roses and tulips all flowers are yellow, orange, blue or whatever. I don’t know what they are called. But I took a lot of pictures so maybe someone out in flower land can enlighten me. The day had a thin layer off clouds all day, so it made for great diffused light. I hung around in the park until sunset and was hoping to get one of those great orange sunsets, but it didn’t happen. Just before subset the clouds broke up and didn’t produce that orange and purple cast. I still have 5 more nights to get on in Joshua Tree. Here’s hoping. If I can get my pictures processed tonight maybe I can get an early start tomorrow. Trouble is I’m getting tired tonight so I might have to put off some of the processing until tomorrow.
