Olympic Peninsula Port Angeles KOA review

LOCAL AREA: This is close to Port Angeles where there is a lot of restaurants and bars

FIRST IMPRESSION: There are a lot of trees when you first pull. Most of the park is tree covered.

GROUND/SURFACE: Most of the surfaces are gravel but they are clean and level

WIFI/PHONE SIGNAL: Very good Wi-Fi and cell connections

CABLE/TV: No cable or over the air TV

POWER FASCILITY: 50/30-amp connections

NOISE/AMBIANCE: Some of the sites are near to US-101 but the noise level at night is not that bad

NOTEWORTHY RULES: Visitors must register at the office when they enter

NEARBY PUBS/EATERIES: Many restaurants ranging from fast food to higher priced restaurants

BASIC AMMENATIES: The restrooms are clean, but the showers are smaller than the one in my trailer. Each site has a picnic table and firepit

STAFF: the staff is extremely friendly and helpful from the people working the desk to the owner who is full of knowledge and I have seen him several times in the evening sitting with guests around their fire and talking with them.

OVERALL THOUGHTS: I give this park 4 ½ stars. It loses a half star because of the lack of cable and TV. I have put 1500 miles on my car just on the peninsula. There are no campgrounds that is centrally located to all of the points of interest on the Olympic Peninsula. This park is very family friendly. There are two play areas, one with the normal playground items and another large where you can play with soccer balls, footballs or baseballs. The have a whole range of bikes to rent. The store is well stocked, and they have a large selection of free DVD’s that can be checked out. There is a pool that is open and a hot tub, but you must be at least eighteen to use the hot tub. I was talking to the owner and he said that he just bought 40 connecting acres for expansion. I didn’t ask him if that expansion would include cable.
