16 Days Until I Hit The Road

You know when I was younger and wanted to go somewhere that I had never been to before I had to rely on encyclopedias and talking to people that I knew that had been to that place.  That was then and this is now. Now I can use this new-fangled thing that is a fad and will go away soon called the internet. So, I figured that I may as well utilize it while it is still around. Really I guess that it is not so much different. I am still reading a lot and depending on people that have been there. I just don’t know them personally.

Really I have used the internet so much for this that some of the people that I have been following I almost think that they have become personal friends. And I have been on the computer so much that I feel like I haven’t retired.

One of the big one that I have followed on YouTube is LoLoHo (Long Long Honeymoon). Sean and Kristy Michael not only have given me insight to some of the places that I want to go to but since I am brand new to using a travel trailer they have many videos about how to set up at campsites. They also have videos about all the good things that happen on a long road trip and also (videos that I don’t like to watch) the bad things that happen on a long road trip.

I have used YouTube to research the parks, photography techniques, items that I need for my trailer, apps to load on to my phone to assist me on the way and many other things that I didn’t know about.  You know what they say, “You don’t know what you don’t know”.

I’ve watched many B&H tutorials for photographic techniques that also sometimes give me ideas about where in some parks to go. Some NatGeo videos and YouTube videos by Nick Carver, Peter Iverson (Photographing USA), Moose Peterson (KelbyOne instructor) and so many others that it would take me pages and hours to list them all.

So, I hope that you get the idea of how much I have researched this trip and I am still nervous about but will get over it.
